Sportsman Channel redefines its workflow via Apace® automated MAM storage platform and Adobe Anywhere
An automated solution for global media access, management, editing, and consolidation
2014 NAB Show, Apace booth #SL12113
Las Vegas, Nevada - April 2nd, 2014 - Sportsman Channel, the leader in outdoor television for the American sportsmen, selected Apace Systems Corporation's® media asset management (MAM)/workflow automation, and clustered storage system paired with Adobe® Anywhere collaborative workflow platform for its end-to-end multi-site production need.
Sportsman Channel's goal was to facilitate its global production workgroups with an expedited reach to its headquarters media in order to further accelerate the path from media ingest to broadcast. After careful review, Sportsman Channel chose Adobe Anywhere and Apace MAM/Storage solution as the most optimum paired option available.
"In transitioning to an all file-based workflow, we searched for a core solution that would enable users with editing access to our media regardless of their geographic location. Apace MAM/Storage platform combined with Adobe's toolset is the heart of that solution", said Don Hertz, Video Operations Manager at Sportsman Channel. "Now, as new media arrives, it is centrally stored at our Milwaukee headquarters once, while quickly accessed from anywhere by our team. Apace MAM automatically moves new content to the appropriate location, applies metadata, generates proxies, and notifies the necessary departments of pertinent media to them as it arrives. Sportsman Channel producers, creative editors, and management located anywhere in the world, can remotely review, approve, and select that media through a simple web based interface, tablet device, or even their phone."
With the Apace content panel integration, editors can view all assets residing on central storage directly from inside Adobe Premiere® Pro CC without needing to map any network storage. They can work remotely from any location with full access to all media on the Apace storage, even assets that haven't been ingested into the MAM.
"The Adobe Anywhere servers communicate seamlessly with the APACE platform in order to allow remote creative teams instant access to our media for editing. All media is securely stored and managed at our headquarters via Apace," states Don. "No need for overnighting hard drives and waiting on long file uploads to begin edit sessions. As with any broadcaster our turn around times are very short, tight integration of Apace and Adobe has accelerated the entire workflow allowing our team to spend more time on creativity and less time on media management."
"Adobe Anywhere empowers users of Adobe professional video solutions to work together regardless of location, using centralized media across standard networks," said Simon Williams, director of strategic relations, at Adobe. "It's exciting to see high-caliber organizations such as Sportsman Channel finding an ideal solution with Adobe products. And Apace System's complementary distributed media asset management, built-in workflow automation, and associated media storage products have played a significant role in the successful deployment of this project."
"Paired with Adobe Anywhere, Apace is pleased to have elevated ROI for this marquee customer via our collaborative, interactive, and managed view to their media assets globally", said Jeanclaude Toma, Executive VP, Apace Systems. "And, we acknowledge Keycode Media and IEEI role as our system integration sales channel partners in support of Adobe and Apace solutions in this project," Toma added.
